How the platform is organised
The five ideas everything else sits on. Read this one first.

VetSage turns your clinic's own procedures into training, checks that people actually retained them, and keeps a record of who is signed off on what. Everything you'll do falls into one of five ideas.
The five pieces
| Piece | What it is |
|---|---|
| Course | A subject, e.g. "Radiographic Positioning & Safety". The container for everything below. |
| Lesson | One teachable idea inside a course. This is the reading a person does. |
| Question | A check that the lesson stuck. Used in the baseline assessment and in Daily Rounds afterwards. |
| Role | A job — Lab Technician, Kennel, Reception. A role decides which courses a person gets. |
| Level | A rank someone earns by completing courses and getting signed off. |
What a new team member experiences
- You add them on the People page. They get a welcome message with a link.
- They sign in with their mobile number or email — there is no password, just a code we send them.
- They take a short baseline assessment: about a dozen questions, and they can skip anything they haven't learned yet.
- The platform builds them a personal learning path, worst and most safety-critical gaps first.
- They work through lessons, and short questions come back days later to check retention.
- A supervisor signs off the hands-on skills. Certifications and renewal dates get recorded.
Finding your way around
The admin area has four tabs across the top, and each one has its own second row of links.
| Tab | What lives there |
|---|---|
| Overview | The dashboard — where things stand right now. |
| Content | Courses, Paths, Authoring, Needs review, AI suggestions, Sims, Day-1, Overlap check. |
| People | Team, Talent pipeline, Roles, Levels, Assignments. |
| Insights | Analytics, Insights, Training behavior. |
When you pick a course in the Content area, that choice follows you between Content screens, so you don't have to reselect it on every page.
